It’ s hard to believe that harvest is just around the corner!

While following equipment auctions, I noticed a remarkable number of John Deere and Case- IH combines sold at recent Missouri auctions. Almost all( 99 %) of the 100-plus combines sold were Case-IH and John Deere models.

A sampling of those sold includes four Case-IH 2388s, with winning bids of $ 11,500; $ 15,000; $ 19,000 and $ 21,000. Hours on these machines ranged from 4012 / 3001; 4569 / 3258; 5347 / 3922 and 5839 / 4262. They ranged in years from 1998 to 2005, and were equipped with duals, augers and a chopper.

A 2009 and 2010 Case-IH 7120 models with 3370 / 2496 and 4096 / 2881 hours— with duals and choppers— went for $ 70,000 and $ 54,000.

The balance of the combines sold during this time consisted of 90-plus John Deere models.

Fifteen John Deere S780 models were sold by three different Missouri auctioneers during this time. These models were from 2018-22, equipped with duals and a chopper, and brought $ 180,750 to $ 400,000. It takes a lot of corn and beans to buy these.

A large number of John Deere 9770STS models, ranging in age from 2007 to 2011, brought prices from $ 39,000 to $ 93,000.
