Winter has set in, and it is the time of the year when skid-steer loaders take on additional duties around the farmstead. If that old skid-steer loader needs to be replaced and you are in the market for a newer model, here’ s some information you may or may not know when it comes to buying a used skid steer.

The average life of a skid-steer loader is between 6,000 and 12,000 hours, depending on its size. This can also vary somewhat depending on operating conditions. Something to also be aware of is that rebuilding an engine on a skid-steer loader costs between $ 6,000 and $ 12,000. So take this into consideration when purchasing a used skid steer.

Some skid steers advertised currently include a number of John Deere models listed for sale in Iowa. A 2018 342G has an asking price of $ 43,900; 2021 330G, 320G and 325G models, also in Iowa, are priced at $ 64,900, $ 49,900 and $ 57,500, respectively.

Three S570 Bobcat loaders in Texas,( 2020, 2018 and 2017) are advertised for prices ranging from $ 15,550 to $ 20,125. A smaller budget model S70 in New Jersey is advertised for $ 1,600.

Six of the popular 2021 Caterpillar 262D3 are currently advertised in Minnesota, Indiana and Texas for an average price of $ 40,000. The high being $ 55,000 and a low of $ 30,000.

of $ 55,000.

As always, condition has to be taken into account on the asking price of any used item, no matter the location.
