Windrowers Focus on Speed, Data & Field Performance

Each Equipment Spotlight offers highlights on a specific type of equipment for the agriculture industry. These manufacturers have provided details on the model of their choosing.
New Holland Speedrower 1 Series
New Holland’ s next-generation Speedrower 1 Series Self- Propelled Windrowers are designed for hay and forage growers who need to cover more acres, protect crop quality and make timely decisions during narrow harvest windows. The new series combines increased horsepower, enhanced operator controls, upgraded cooling performance and Relative Yield Monitoring integrated with lifetime FieldOps connectivity.
The Speedrower 1 Series features a four-model lineup ranging from 161 to 308 peak horsepower, built for the demands of commercial hay and forage operations. Improvements in machine speed up to 20 miles per hour in the field, a larger 150-gallon fuel tank and cooling performance in the fanreversing function allow operators to stay productive longer and move efficiently between fields.
The new series introduces Relative Yield Monitoring, which generates real-time relative yield maps during harvest and helps growers make in-cab decisions such as adjusting ground speed in lighter crops or managing cut quality in heavier forage. Field data is automatically captured and stored in New
Holland’ s FieldOps platform, allowing growers to take out the guesswork and easily compare performance across fields and seasons.
The new machines also feature upgraded operator controls, improved connectivity and enhanced cab experience designed to support long hours in the field. The AutoFloat Header Floatation System continuously monitors and adjusts flotation pressure to help maintain consistent header ground pressure while reducing the need for manual adjustments. Operators can fine-tune flotation from the cab using the IntelliView IV PLUS display.

John Deere W260M
The John Deere W260M Windrower is a high-horsepower windrower designed to help hay and forage producers improve productivity, efficiency and profitability, especially when cutting dense crops. When paired with the new optional integrated mounted-merger, the W260M can help operators merge up to 48 feet into one windrow, reducing the need for additional field passes and helping save time, fuel and labor.
Producers need to do more with less to combat rising costs across the industry. The W260M Windrower with the mounted-merger gives operators a complete solution that delivers time savings through fewer passes, while providing the horsepower needed to cut dense crops without sacrificing fuel efficiency. For dairy and cattle feed producers and hay and forage operations, that means more opportunity to improve profitability without adding labor hours.
The mounted-merger also extends value across the John Deere windrower lineup, with compatibility on existing W235M, W235R and W260R models. This gives operators access to the productivity benefits of combining wider cut widths into fewer windrows. The John Deere windrower portfolio also offers technology such as AutoTrac guidance, TouchSet controls that allow operators to preset integrated controls and customize windrow shape and mowing documentation for easier job tracking and better decision-making.
The W260M Windrower and mounted-merger are designed to combine field operations, reducing the number of passes required during hay production. By integrating these functions, the system can help improve operational efficiency, reduce fuel use and allow operators to complete fieldwork with fewer steps.
