Sprayers Shaping Field Efficiency
Exploring Sprayer Technology for Tighter Application Windows
Each Equipment Spotlight offers highlights on a specific type of equipment for the agriculture industry. These manufacturers have provided details on the model of their choosing.
Fendt Rogator 900
As application windows tighten and field conditions become less predictable, the Fendt Rogator 900 is designed to deliver consistent performance across a wide range of environments. Built around a common chassis and interchangeable systems, it supports both liquid and dry application, allowing operators to adapt equipment use across the season without relying on multiple machines. This flexibility aligns with the broader shift toward application equipment that supports real-world variability.
The Rogator 900 emphasizes control and precision in application. Features such as LiquidLogic technology and integrated machine controls help ensure accurate product placement and reduce waste during operation. The system supports consistent application by maintaining pressure and priming throughout the boom, while section and rate control features are designed to improve coverage and reduce overlap in the field.
Versatility is one of the machine’ s features. The machine’ s dual-position chassis allows operators to move between standard and high-clearance configurations, supporting applications from pre-planting through late-season crop protection. Combined with allwheel drive, traction control and suspension systems that maintain contact with the ground, the sprayer is engineered to operate across varying terrain and crop conditions.
For the user, the Fendt Rogator 900 is important because it consolidates multiple application functions into a single platform while maintaining consistent performance. By supporting timely, precise application across changing conditions, it can help protect yield potential and input investment during narrow application windows.

John Deere 412R
The John Deere 412R self-propelled sprayer for Model Year 2027 is designed to support timely application and more precise input use. With the next generation of See & Spray technology, operators can target weeds in real time and apply product only where it is needed across a broader range of acres and crops.
The MY27 412R also includes two See & Spray features in base on both Gen 1( Premium / Ultimate) and all Gen 2 machines at no additional cost. Fallow( No Crop) is now standard, extending this capability across all See & Spray systems. See & Scout functionality will also be in base for 2027, with cameras continuously capturing weed pressure and stand count maps( beginning with corn) that flow into Operations Center for inseason field insights.
New variable rate functionality( previously only available on See & Spray Select) adjusts application rates at the nozzle level based on real-time biomass detection. This supports more precise product placement during in-season applications and later passes, such as fungicide or harvest aid applications.
The 412R also includes updates intended to support productivity in a range of field conditions. Higher targeted spray speeds and updated camera placement are designed to support consistent performance. An available four-wheel steering system with crab steer can improve maneuverability in tighter fields and may help reduce crop disturbance during turns. Overall, the MY27 412R adds several updates focused on application precision, field visibility and machine maneuverability.
