New Technologies Coordinate Combine Performance, Grain Handling, & Operator Inputs
Each Equipment Spotlight offers highlights on a specific type of equipment for the agriculture industry. These manufacturers have provided details on the model of their choosing.
John Deere S7 Series
Tight harvest windows, changing crop conditions, and varying levels of operator experience can make it difficult to maintain productivity and grain quality throughout harvest. The John Deere S7 Series combine is designed to help operators manage those challenges with automation that can respond as conditions change. Available in S7 600, S7 700, S7 800, and S7 900 models, the lineup integrates precision technology including Predictive Ground Speed Automation, Machine Sync, and Auto Unload.
Finding the best combine settings can also be challenging because the right settings are constantly changing as crop and field conditions change. Rather than continually chasing adjustments, Harvest Settings Automation lets operators establish targets for grain loss, broken grain, and material other than grain, then automatically adjusts machine settings to help achieve those outcomes. Predictive Ground Speed Automation uses satellite data, terrain information, and forwardfacing cameras to anticipate crop conditions and adjust speed, helping farmers achieve up to 20 % productivity gains during tight harvest windows. For model year 2027, operators can also establish a desired crop throughput target, helping maintain a more consistent harvest pace that can make logistics
Case IH Axial-Flow 160
Narrow operating windows make maximizing productivity and boosting grain quality essential during harvest, regardless of operation size. Designed for smaller operations, the Axial- Flow 160 series combine provides productivity, grain quality, simplicity, and built-in technology in a compact combine package.
The Axial-Flow 160 series combine comes with upgrades to the technology stack for the 2027 Model Year, including dual Pro 1200 displays, enabling a live in-cab view of the GrainCam as well as delivering Remote Display View and Real Time Monitoring( RTM) functionality to Case IH FieldOps. The series now offers the Vector Pro receiver and RowGuide Pro for row guidance improvement, along with AccuTurn Pro end-of-row turning for hands-free automated steering and Connectivity Included.
Ordering is made simple with two technology package offerings and subscription-free technology, providing a machine that is field-ready from day one without the need to worry about
management easier. The two automation systems now work more closely together so speed and machine settings can respond to one another as conditions change.
Keeping combines, grain carts, and operators coordinated can create another point of stress. Machine Sync gives the combine and grain cart operators the ability to sync ground speeds while unloading on the go, allowing the combine operator control of the grain cart position for easier grain cart loading. Auto Unload takes that a step further by using an auger-mounted camera to monitor grain-cart fill and automatically positions the grain cart for a more consistent load, allowing the combine operator to stay focused on harvesting. AutoTrac Turn Automation can further reduce repetitive operator inputs by helping manage end-of-row turns.
As farmers work to cover acres within increasingly tight harvest windows while managing labor and changing field conditions, automation can help operators focus more on the outcome and less on constantly managing the machine. The John Deere S7 allows farmers to choose the level of automation that fits their operation while keeping the operator in control of harvest priorities.

managing renewals. Outside of the cab, the Axial-Flow 160 series combine prioritizes the bottom line, delivering grain quality, cleaning performance, and grain savings through the AFX rotor and Cross Flow cleaning system. With fewer moving parts, the Axial-Flow 160 series combine is designed for straightforward operation and serviceability. The combine is designed to support efficiency by reducing equipment downtime and fuel consumption, while supporting longevity and resale value.
