Oliver Corporation
Charles W. Hart and Charles H. Parr built their first tractor, the“ Hart- Parr No. 1”, in 1902 and the beginnings for the tractor known as Oliver was founded. Hart-Parr built tractors under their name until 1929 when the companies, Nichols & Shepard, American Seeding Machine Co., Oliver Chilled Plow Works and Hart-Parr, merged to form the Oliver Farm Equipment Company. The Oliver Company produced highly popular tractors until 1960. White Motor Corporation acquired Oliver in 1960, but the Oliver name was used until 1976. White Motor Corporation, in 1985, divested its agricultural assets and Allied Products Corporation, which, eventually became known as AGCO, acquired the tractor line.
