Wagner Tractor Company, Inc.

In 1954, the Wagner Tractor Company was founded in Portland, Oregon. Elmer Wagner, one of seven brothers, began experimenting with a 4WD articulating tractor design in 1949. In 1954, the Wagner brothers, Bill, Guy, Eddie, Walt, Harold, Irvin and Elmer partnered with J. Burke Long and formed the Wagner Tractor Company, Inc. They manufactured what some consider being the first successful 4WD articulating tractors. In 1961, Wagner was sold to the Four Wheel Drive( FWD) Corporation of Clintonville, WI and their tractor division became FWD Wagner. In 1968, FWD Wagner sold their rights to some models to Raygo Corporation and others to John Deere.
