B. F. Avery & Sons
Benjamin Franklin Avery began his career in 1825 as a blacksmith in Clarksville, VA and later moved in 1845 to Louisville, KY where the Avery Plow Factory was founded. B. F. Avery ventured into the tractor business in 1915 with a 20 horsepower unit that could be totally removed from the chassis by removing 8 bolts.
The B. F. Avery Model A became a very popular tractor on small farms during the 1940’ s, especially in the South. This Model A, 4-cylinder engine was a lightweight tricycle model. The Minneapolis-Moline Company took over B. F. Avery, in 1951 but continued to market the B. F. Avery name until approximately 1958.
